Angel - The Prodigal / S01E15 Two father stories. We learn
Angel (aka ‘Liam’) hated his father and got his revenge when he became a
vampire. Throwback to Darla, who Angel killed during the first season
of Buffy. The other father story is
Kate’s. Her dad is doing some work for some shady people who turn out to
be vampire drug dealers. The vamps kill Kate’s dad (while Angel watches
helplessly b/c he wasn’t invited in). At the end, Angel watches in the
shadows as Kate visits her father’s grave. Plot moving: Kate is becoming more comfortable with the world of demons and killing them is not a problem. Angel is hired by a fake client
who tricks him into looking for a man, but he ends up as a member of an
underground fight club where Demons fight and kill each other for their
freedom. Angel tries not to fight, tries to incite the other demons not to fight but doesn’t get very far. Wolfram & Hart shows up
again – this time it’s attorney Lilah Morgan who offers to buy Angel
from the ring as long as he doesn’t do anything about it. He turns her
down. Wesley & Cordelia working
together to solve a problem without Angel. They sneak into the ring and
watch Angel make a kill. This set them up as a good team. Demons – Angel doesn’t think all
demons are bad. He doesn’t want to kill them. Of course, there’s a
great line where the trio realize they just set a bunch of demons free
on LA. Angel saves the life of an aging
famous actress who wants to hire him to help her find her stalker. It
turns out her stalker is fake – set up by her agent – but then she wants
Angel to turn her into a vampire so she won’t grow old. She poisons his
drink with a drug that makes him feel happy and he suddenly becomes EVIL ANGEL (Angelus)! He is going to torture the actress – and even nips at her neck – and then he plans to kill her. He goes after her in the office
where he mocks Wesley’s lack of balls and Cordelia’s lack of acting
skills. Then they push him down the elevator shaft and he passes out. He
wakes up chained to the bed. Wesley and Cordelia agree to move on and
forget what was said, but they leave him chained up anyway. Next: Viewing Guide: From BuffyFest
