Angel – Parting Gifts / S01E10 Cordelia discovers that Doyle
passed on his gift of visions to her. She goes on a kissing spree to try
to pass it on to someone else. A demon named Barney comes to
Angel looking for help from a guy who is stalking him. He describes the
guy as relentless and bad-ass… it turns out to be Wesley, who is dressed
in leather but still as incompetent as ever. Barney tricks Angel &
Wesley into thinking another demon is hunting him – but it turns out
Barney is the bad guy. He steals people’s gifts and he decides to steal
Cordelia and sell her at auction as a “seer”. Angel & Wesley save her
(Wesley gets knocked out immediately… again). In the end, Wesley stays
and joins the gang. Buffy – Hush / S04E10 This was an awesome episode!
Scary guys with giant, toothy grins steal everyone’s voices in Sunnydale
and go on a killing spree to steal human hearts. Buffy & company are forced
to communicate without words. Great scenes: Buffy & Riley kiss when they
can’t talk to each other (babble). Buffy & Riley fighting the
toothy guys and discovering the other one’s secret. They can’t lie to
each other or tell the truth so they just fight together. Xander beats up Spike when he
thinks Spike bit Anya. This goes back to a conversation they had earlier
about Xander not caring for Anya. Anya uses sign language to suggest
they go have sex after Xander beats up Spike. Willow finds a fellow witch and
together they hurl a vending machine against a door to keep out the
creepies. EPIC last scene where Riley says he and
Buffy need to talk… then they just sit in silence. Interesting trivia: - The actors actually deliver all
of their lines as normal, and the dialogue was muted so that the lip
reading early on was identifiable. With a high enough volume on a
television set Alyson Hannigan can be heard to say the first part of her
line “I’ve gone deaf.” when she and Buffy are in the dorm. Viewing Guide: From BuffyFest
Good
episode!

LOTS of
hints in the first 10 minutes of dialogue about the characters relying
on their ability to speak.
- Joss
Whedon created this episode after hearing repeatedly that the crucial
part of his series was the dialogue.

FARGO (1996). A snow covered movie about a car salesman, a pregnant police chief, a kidnapping gone awry and a wood chipper.

A giant snake and a tiny alien squirm through the streets of Sunnydale. Riley has a thing for vampires, Joyce is really sick and Spike took a pair of Buffy's undies.
