This was a step in the direction
of the big season finale. We see that Faith is still
bloodthirsty when she kills a messenger even though she’s nor ordered to
do so by the mayor. Buffy et. al steal a box full of
giant spiders from the mayor, but Willow gets kidnapped so they make a
trade. Oz is awesome. He says nothing
during the debate over saving Willow, but calmly walks to the cauldron
and breaks it. Choices - about school. Buffy
gets accepted everywhere and briefly dreams of going… but ends up
deciding that she must be in Sunnydale (at UC Sunnydale).
Willow will stay, too. We assume Xander is staying. BIG EPISODE! Angel dumps Buffy. Says he’s
leaving (did fans know he was getting his own spin-off at this point?) Anya is still here. For some
reason. Cordie has to work to buy her
prom dress b/c her dad “made one mistake on his taxes. For the last 12
years.” Cordelia & Xander make amends FINALLY. Cordie/Wesley start their
relationship. Giles: “She is 18 and you have the social maturity of a
blueberry scone.” Class Awards: Buffy wins the
Class Protector award… showing that people have noticed she’s saving
lives (and the class of ‘99 has the lowest mortality rate in recorded
history!). Angel shows up for one last
dance but says he’s still leaving. Buffy knows it’s for the best.
