Xander is The Zeppo – refers to Zeppo Marx, the untalented fifth Marx brother. FANTASTIC EPISODE! This
was all from Xander’s point of view on the perimeter of the Scooby
Gang’s exploits. He nearly gets killed fighting demons so Buffy tells
him to back off. While
Buffy and company are fighting the end of the world, Xander tries to be
cool and ends up hooking up with some undead partiers who want to blow
up the high school. Xander foils their plot by proving to one of the
guys that he’s not afraid to die and proving to himself that he’s a
worthy member of the Scooby Gang. Also? In the midst of all that, Xander sleeps with Faith! Great episode b/c we just get glimpses of some drama between Buffy & Angel, and fighting the Hellmouth demon. There’s
a new watcher, Wesley Wyndham-Price. He’s played by Alexis Denisoff…
aka Sen. Daniel Perrin on Dollhouse and, in real life, Alyson
Hannigan’s husband (and baby-daddy). Lots
of contrasts in this episode: Buffy versus Faith; Giles versus Wesley.
Shows us that Giles, though bookish and British, is quite the rogue
Watcher. In other words, Buffy is to Faith as Giles is to Wesley. Buffy
rebels against the new watcher by trying to be more like Faith. Buffy
usually works within the law but Faith does not and leads Buffy astray.
They break into a weapons store, break out of a cop car… and then Faith
kills a human. Faith’s reaction to killing a human: Remorse? More closing herself off? Obviously this is leading to some big disaster with Faith. And the STEW DEMON! Next:
