Faith, Hope and Trick / S03E03 Faith is the new slayer (an over-zealous Eliza Dushku) who has some serious issues with violence and adrenaline. Hope is Scott Hope, Buffy’s possible new love interest. Vanilla character, we don’t expect him to be around for long. Trick is Mr. Trick, a vampire who arrives with Kakistos (kuh-KEY-stoze), who is seeking revenge against Faith. A
lot of new stories opened up here – but the biggest one is dropped on
us at the end when Buffy leaves the ring Angel gave her at the
mansion…. and suddenly Angel returns from hell. He’s naked and
shivering! Good episode! It’s a full moon and Oz thinks he’s the one who mauled a student during the night. Meanwhile,
Buffy’s new couple friends, Debbie and Pete have some major issues.
Pete loves Debbie so much that he concocts a potion that turns him from
Mr. Hyde to Dr. Jekyll. It turns out, he’s the jealous monster who is
mauling people who talk to Debbie. He kills Debbie and tries to kill
Buffy, but Angel saves her. Then her drops to his knees and weeps. ANGEL:
Has he gone mad? He was tortured in hell for 100s of years (time moves
differently there). Giles says it’s unlikely anyone will ever get out…
and that it would take someone of extraordinary character to retain any
