I got to attend a very exclusive screening of LEVERAGE Season 2 tonight. There were 5 screenings around the country this week -- but ours was the coolest because we got to see it with the cast.
We were in a room that sat about 100 people in the Hotel deLuxe in downtown Portland and got to watch the first episode of season 2 and partake in a little q&a with the cast. I have some q&a audio but first let me review the episode.
Leverage Season 2 Episode 1
The Beantown Bailout Job
The gang comes back together after being apart for 6 months. They are now "Broken" criminals. Parker stole the Hope Diamond just for fun -- she gave it back. They are all longing to get back into the Robin Hood Business.
Nate isn't but he also helps someone and starts off a chain of events that requires the old gang to get back together.
Overall an ok episode. Looked great except for an "air force one" effect at the start when a car goes flying through the air. Cheesy! (amateur video of the explosion)
The first 1/3 of the script was a little off, self-conscious? And the gags were kind of slapstick. But after they got back into the groove the episode became grounded.
Fun to watch the show with the cast. To look over and see them laughing or reacting was fun too.
Leverage is returns for 7 summer episodes on July 15th on TNT.
